Dearest Judy, Karen, Danny, Steven, and Family,

For the sixty two years I was privileged to know, admire, respect and love this most special man. My heart is deeply saddened and I share your immeasurable loss.

He is forever my hero and his legacy will be a treasured gift to Jenna, Haley, Jack, and Emma.

My deepest condolences to your family. Richard was such a kind, loving, wise man. He always seemed larger than life to me. He could solve any problem or figure out how to get it done. Both my parents held him in such high regard. I know your family will miss him dearly.

I have great memories playing with Danny and Karen and my brothers and later with Steve in the backyard when we were really young. Dick was such a great father and would take the time to speak to all of us as we were running under foot. Mom and dad adored Dick. I believe he was one of mom’s oldest friends and they enjoyed getting together with him and Judy. I will always remember when he visited me in the hospital when I ruptured a few disks as a teen. That meant so much to me! I also think of his warm and sincere smile and the way he would ask how you were and you knew that he really cared. He was so wickedly smart but never lauded that over anyone. He always took the time to offer an explanation, even to an inquisitive young girl. Judy, Danny, Karen and Steve I am so sorry for your loss. May his memory always be a blessing

I had the privilege as a young lawyer to work for Richard - he was a great teacher and mentor respected by both his clients, colleagues and opponents. Sue and I enjoyed spending time with him and offer Judy and family our deepest sympathies
