Funeral Details

James L. Rosenberg, M.D., passed away after a life defined by compassion, intellect, and unwavering dedication to his patients and those he loved.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Jim spent his early years there before moving to Los Angeles as a teenager. He went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania before earning his medical degree and completing his training at Northwestern University School of Medicine.

A respected gastroenterologist, Dr. Rosenberg devoted his career to caring for his patients with exceptional skill, kindness, and integrity. His work touched countless lives, and he was admired not only for his medical expertise but also for the compassion and reassurance he brought to every person he treated.

During the 1970s, Dr. Rosenberg proudly served his country as a Major in the United States military, spending two years stationed in Dayton, Ohio. He carried that same sense of duty and service throughout his life and medical career.

For many years, Jim made his home in Highland Park, Illinois, where he built a life centered on family, friendship, and community. He found great joy in watching his family grow and took immense pride in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren.

He also enjoyed spending time at his home in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. And he loved his many travels to countries all over the world.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra, 13 years ago. He was grateful to find companionship and happiness again with his loving partner Cindy Schoenstadt whose care and devotion brought comfort and joy in his later years.

He is survived by his son and daughter, their spouses, his five cherished grandchildren, and his devoted partner. He also leaves behind extended family, dear friends, former colleagues, and generations of grateful patients who will remember him with admiration and affection.

Jim will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity and commitment to helping others. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, partner, physician, and friend whose legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
