Bernie led the first Seder I had experienced after I started seeing his niece Susie and he intimidated the heck out of me. But he helped me through it along with the rest of the family, didn't put me on the spot too badly, and became part of what I have always loved about being part of Susie's family. It had been a very long time since I'd last seen Bernie, but his memory truly will be a blessing to me. My love to you all.

Bernie was a wonderful man and great companion for my mother, Ginger. Until Ginger's passing earlier this year, they would talk several times a day and always before going to sleep. I know they shared a love that was a true bonding of spirit. They enjoyed dining out and just spending time with each other. Over the last few years, they were the best of friends. At one point they said that if they went into a nursing home, they would go together, although I am not sure how serious they were. Bernie came to my mother's funeral, which I am sure wasn't easy, but we were grateful for having him there and we considered him family. Both of us served in the Army, though not together, and we enjoyed talking and sharing our experiences. I just heard about his passing today and, living in Virginia, won't be able to express our sympathies in person. Our deepest sympathy for your loss; he was a great man.

My dear brother. A guiding light - friend, confidant. I am forever grateful how both you and Anita were always there when choices needed to be made. Will await for occasional ‘soul reminders ‘that you both remain in my life.
