OBITUARY
Margaret “Meg” Musick-Makely, age 65
Beloved wife of 43 years to Michael Makely. Loving mother of Leigh Rose Makely and Georgia Rae Makely (Tom Schraeder). Devoted daughter of Judith Musick Spiegel, and preceded in death by her beloved father Stuart Musick and loving stepfather Andrew Spiegel. Cherished sister of Hugh Musick, sister-in-law to Judine O’Shea, and adored aunt to her nieces and nephews on both the Musick and Makely sides. Meg is also survived by her dear uncle Michael and beloved “granddog,” Kahlua.
Meg was a force by every definition of the word: fearless, creative, and unabashedly herself. A lifelong dancer and maker of beautiful things, she poured her artistic spirit into every part of her life, from her perfume and shoe collections to her handbag and accessories brand, Musick. Known for her rockstar sense of style and magnetic presence, she left a trail of inspired admirers wherever she went.
Private services will be held in Highland Park, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Malnati Brain Tumor Institute at Northwestern Medicine, where Meg received exceptional care and compassion throughout her treatment. Supporting this institute helps advance critical research and provide hope for families affected by brain tumors, continuing the spirit of kindness and strength that Meg embodied every day.
