Al was my "go-to" acoustic consultant for 40 years, absolutely the best, most clever and practical acoustic consultant I ever had the pleasure of working with. He will be deeply missed.

I will always remember my roommate at the UofI, Al always had a Kosher salami or 2 hanging out the window so as not to smell up the apt. too badly. We certainly enjoyed eating them though. Al married Audrey, who lived in the same house as my wife Carol and we then were neighbors on Long Road in Glenview for years. Al will be sorely missed. My sincere condolences to the family.

Bonnie and I first met Al at EKT in Urbana. I married Bonnie, Al married Audrey. We knew each other for four years and then we left Chicago for San Francisco. A few years later Al, Audrey, Beth, Lisa and Dina appeared in San Francisco and rented a house about a mile away from us in the Sunset District (near the ocean). We really then got to know each other very well. We had a few local excursions with our families. We grew very fond of Al . We had a few communications over the years, always enjoyable.. the last was during the World Series when I called to inquire about the relationship to Jason Kipnis.
Our condolences to the family. We will miss him.
