Nate and I pledged together freshman year and he was such an inspiration. He always had a smile on his face and seemed to bring laughter to everyone around him. He was always willing to help others with their homework, especially my calculus. He had a generous and selfless heart, and I will miss him.

How does one adequately put into words the sorrow and sense of loss that has enveloped so many as a result of Nate's all too early passing?

Nate was a bright, shining light who filled any room he was in. His warmth, boundless energy, wit and charm made it impossible not to like him. His contagious enthusiasm and belief in possibilities drew people near and compelled them to be a part of his world. His kindness and thoughtfulness set an example for others who were privileged to learn by his example.

I did not know Nate for as long as many others, but I will never forget him. He was a wonderful friend and colleague and a joy to be with. His passing leaves a sense of loss that may be tempered over time by the warm memories of his all too brief presence on earth, but nevertheless, an emptiness that cannot be so easily filled. I will really miss him, and what I had every right to assume would have been a valued friendship and association of many years.

My deepest condolences go out to Nate's parents, his brother, sister and extended family, his loyal friends, and the colleagues who treasured their partnership with him.

Nate, you left us way too soon. You will truly be missed.

so sorry for your loss.
when Fred used to drop off plans at my house in Schaumburg he would usually bring Nate with him and Nate would play with Magen.
One day Fred came over without Nate. ok no problem. After about 10 mins Fred said " oh shit" and ran out to the car where Nate was just sitting there waiting with a smile on his face. What a cute little boy!
Love you
