It was a rare privilege to interact with Debby at Roosevelt University. In spite of her health problems, she always returned my greeting with a smile, and sometimes would share comments about the realities in Springfield.

Debbie will be missed by many including me. She had a irreverence for hypocrisy, a sharp wit, and a quick mind. She was a woman of strong opinions, but a good listener as well. At ICL I enjoyed and benefitted from her welcoming nature, optimism, and friendship. I will miss her. May she rest in peace and deepest sympathy to her family for their loss.

It is with great sorrow that I heard of Debbie''s passing. She will be long remembered not only for her generous contributions to the ICLRU, but also for her untiring zeal on behalf of the Schaumburg Library. May she rest in peace.

Debby was the epitome of the continued learner, always open to new experiences. She made the best Cleopatra in our Shakespeare Class at RU. She will be terribly missed by all who knew and loved her.

I was my privilege to take several of her classes at ICLRU. She was a woman of vision and was determined to follow her visions. Her trademark was her beaming smile. Condolences to her family.

Tracy, we are so sad to hear of your loss. Though we never got to meet your mother, I know she must have really been awesome. She definitely raised an awesome daughter. Our love and condolences to you and your family. We are here for you.

I will Debby at the many events of Institute of Continued Learning at Roosevelt University. She was always looking for something new to learn, and to share with others. Serving on a few committees was always interesting. Debby will be missed by many of us at ICL

I met Debby when we joined ICL several years ago. She was made lifelong learning possible for so many members. Her previous lives as an advocate for the library allowed her to follow her passion for learning and meeting new people. As a lobbyist she tried to make sure we all would have the right to learn.

She made me an almost unwilling co-chair of the lecture committee at a luncheon several years ago. Just in "her way" she turned to me and said "you will be my co-chair next year". I learned to value and respect her bluntness and regard her strength. She was the epitome of a strong woman and she fought every day to live the best life that day.

Her sense of humor was often biting but always pertinent. She never complained - well almost never - about her many issues. She faced life with grit and determination. A good life lesson for us all.

While I cannot attend the service due to minor surgery today you will be in my heart. God bless you Debby. I will take care of the lecture series now and you can steer me from above.

Debby, I don't know how to say good-bye. I just know that I will miss you terribly. I will miss your keen insight, your leadership, your intelligence and your humor. But more than that I will miss the little devil with the twinkle and smile always willing to try anything and taking me along for the ride. You have left a void that cannot be filled.

Debby, you will be sorely missed at ICL. You injected vim and vinegar into board meetings and study groups. You always put a strong spirit forward, even when your steps may have faltered. You were courage laced with humor and spunk.

Debbie was a warm and loving person, I met her my first year at ICL and she got me to do a travel session on a place I had been too. She didn't have to twist my arm very much. She will greatly be missed.
