With several friends, I had lunch with her in October, to celebrate her birthday and she was as vibrant as ever, exclaiming over a book she was given, which was written by one of her former students, A.J. Jacobs. We loved her stories of New York and the Dalton School. No wonder Cameron adored her. He used to call me to let me know if she would be late or meeting us at the restaurant. She was a vital part of what we called "the Fab 5," which later became "the Super 6" and the "Sensational 7."

She never failed to be cheery and fun. But I'll remember her most for her kindness. When I first encouraged a friend in a wheelchair to join the Woman's Club of Evanston, Marilyn was for several years the only one besides me who made sure she got pushed around the club in her chair and back home again.

So sorry for your loss. Marilyn was always a bright face in the Kahal community and I valued getting to know her throughout my years in attendance there.
