Dear Alan, David, Steve and families: As you know, Bernie and I first met your Dad over 50 years ago when we joined Ezras Israel, and David and our Saul became friends in Hebrew School.

Through the years we became good friends with him and Zita. I think I wrote a message when your dear Mom passed just a couple of months ago. So, now I'll concentrate on your Dad.

Marv was always so very kind and had a sweet nature. In all the years, we never heard him raise his voice, and when he spoke he was most concise and to the point of the conversation -- always intelligently delivered. We enjoyed them, as well as our small shul group. I believe only Arnie Rosenbaum and I are left from the group.

I would have written sooner, but as I told David on my phone message, just returned from a trip to South America, so was not aware of your Dad's passing.

You should take comfort in knowing that he was much loved and respected by everyone who knew him.

With love,
Erna Pilchen
