You were one of the most respected, honest, sincere, compassionate and committed men I knew. Your contributions to so many individuals and to the insurance world will always be remembered and cherished. You left behind great legacies in many, many ways. You will be missed but your memory will live on. My prayers go out to you and your entire family.

Urban Insurance is a business my dad started over 50 years ago, throughout all of that time we always had some type of business connection, first with Marshall Romanz as Urban's accountant and then as an agent of his insurance company, a tradition that continued with Marc Romanz. The connection was no accident, Marshall and my father, Jerry, were friends dating back from grammar school.
Marc and I were both members of the "Second-generation" of the Chicago auto insurance world. We were not alone, it seems that this special niche was brought to life in the late 50s early 60s, largely by some 30+ people starting agencies. The numbers were small enough, their backgrounds often similar enough that people tended to know one another. Yes the competition could be fierce, yet that was always a mutual respect, and even a degree of comradely.
Marc and I were around the same age, shared the experience of working with family, and knew some of the same people.
Throughout the years marc frequently reached out with a kind word, offered help when he could. He always had a pleasant manner , quick to smile.
My heart goes out to his family and to all those lives will be less without him.

It is because of the opportunity you gave me that I have excelled in the insurance business. You steered me on a path to a great career and I will never forget that. I will miss your many jokes that went over my head although you laughed at them loud enough for the both of us. Rest in Paradise Mr. Romanz.

My Condolences go out to your family. You were such a good friend for so long. You were always there for me. Whatever mood I was in before seeing you, my spirits were always higher when I was with you.
We connected on so many levels. In fact, you could read my mind. You knew my down card more often than anyone else. You were a Master Table-Talker. You were a Master Talker in General! If I won, I always admitted to 5 or 10 dollars less, just to drive you crazy during your final tally.
Shortly after hearing the news, I was in Gridlock in Grayslake (Grayslock Gridlake) when a camper pulled in front of me. On the back in big red cursive was the name Lance. It was the first sign that although you have left, you will always be with us. Rest in peace, my Friend.
