Dear Karen, I can't tell you how sad we are to hear your news. I remember our shared school girl giddiness at being in love and married - at our age! Sending you so much love!

Ed came into your life and shined a bright light for a wonderful future together. That light was dimmed way to early. My deepest sorrow for you Karen..

We are very saddend by this news. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all and especially the children during this time of mourning. Ed was our brother in arms in the fight for parental equality and our hearts lay heavy with sorrow today. Losing one of our brothers takes a toll on us and the future generations. Ed was a soldier on the front lines who dedicated his time to see to it that our children never have to grow up and endure the pain that he and so many others endured. Ed we miss you Brother. May you now have peace embraced in the Lord's loving arms.

On behalf of all of us here at Illinois Fathers.

We have lost a great advocate of the Family Law Reform Movement. I sat in several meetings with Ed where he so eloquently (much more than I could ever do) educated and influenced legislators, legislative committees, and judges. He was always well-prepared with data to counter myths, and never afraid to challenge the current thought, leading to insightful and thought-provoking discussions. I learned much from you and will miss you.

My heartfelt condolences to the Foley Family.

This week was tough. Having to say goodbye to a very close friend. The funny thing about death it can come to those you least expect. I never lost a friend, I lost a parent, a grandparent, aunts, and uncles. Ed Noel Foley was a dad of my sonâ??s best friend. We all met in first grade both in school and on the soccer fields. Ed was Martyâ??s coach. We all clicked from day one. Funny how that happens and how it isnâ??t that often. From that point, there were backyard drinks, dinners, chit chating during drop offs, boysâ?? birthday parties and two very fun camping trips. He had a beautiful sole, our friend Ed. Conversations were intellectual, deep, heated (you know those Scots), sometimes sad and lots and lots of belly laughs. We pretty much did it allâ?¦in terms of friendship. Life will be different now that we had to say goodbye to Ed. Karen said he loved us and he knew we all loved himâ?¦I guess that is all you can ask for at this point that he knew he was loved. RIP Edâ?¦thanks for the memories.
