OBITUARY

Dorothy Heiferman Levin Eby of Mystic, CT, died peacefully on May 14, 2016. Dorothy was born on May 7, 1928 in Chicago, IL to the late Morris and Libby Heiferman. A devoted wife and mother, her greatest joy, besides eating sweets, was being with and attending to the needs of family and friends. Her passions included reading cookbooks, gardening, spending time at the beach, and traveling. Although she lived in Connecticut for 51 years, she never lost her love for Chicago.

Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Robert Levin and the late Edward Eby. Dorothy was the loving mother of Judith (Neal Beroz) Levin, Russell (Diane) Levin, Gail (David) Johnson; proud grandmother of Rory Levin and Andrew and Alex Johnson; dear sister of Hilbert Heiferman and Geraldine Mines; and fond aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on May 18th at 1:00 pm at Evergreen Cemetery, 3401 West 87th St, Evergreen Park, IL.

We are so sorry to learn of Dorothy's passing. She was a next-door neighbor to my parent's for many years in Waterford, CT. I cut her lawn and did odd jobs for her growing up. Moving back to the street as an adult I continued to see her occasionally as a neighbor and while visiting my mother right up until she moved out a few years back. We have fond memories of her.

Dear Judy, Russell,Gail, and families--
Your mother and I knew each other for many years-=through fun times, sad times. She,Ed, Dick, and I liked to just sit and gab and eat.

My thoughts and fond memories are with you at this time. Phyllis

Judy, Russell, & Gail,

I'm very sorry to learn of your mother's passing. I remember many times Dorothy would stop by our house when we were kids to bring a bag of food for us because it was "Buy one Get One Free"! Your mother was generous always, and the Slavtcheff crew will miss her very much.

With Sympathy,
Mark
