OBITUARY
Dr. Melvin A. Krugly passed away on February 22, 2017.
Melvin ("Mel") was the beloved husband of Dolores Krugly (née Pinsky) and loving father of Elizabeth (the late Donald) Becker and Ruth Krugly (Darryl Davidson). He was the extremely proud grandfather of Rachel Krugly Davidson, devoted brother of Judith Telman (Stewart), and cherished brother-in-law of Janice (the late Sylvan) and Stewart. Melvin was a dear uncle to the late Laura Wiley, Dana Wiley, Muki (Pam) Telman, Michal (Joel) Voloshen, Ronit (Roni) Golan and Jeremy (Catherine)Telman. During his long and extraordinary career as a pediatrician, Mel took care of and was relied upon by thousands of his patients - and their parents. Mel was known for his keen wit, wise counsel, unstinting generosity, and an avid interest in world affairs that continued through his final days. But perhaps he was known best for the remarkable love affair and marriage with Dolores that lasted 65 years. Mel was the revered and adored head of the family. The loss of this exceptional man will be felt deeply by all. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Roger Baldwin Foundation of the ACLU of Illinois, 180 N. Michigan Avenue, Suite 2300, Chicago, IL 60601, www.action.aclu.org/secure/support-aclu-illinois or The Greater Chicago Food Depository, 4100 West Ann Lurie Place, Chicago, IL 60632, www.chicagosfoodbank.org.
