My heart is deeply saddened by Sherwin's passing. He will be missed in the halls at Palatine High School. He had a unique sense of humor like no other. I will truly miss seeing him and know his spirit lives on - GYM TIME!! Ginger Yactor

Sherrington was a great and loving neighbor. A second father to my son Matthew and a wonderful friend. What a doting father! His world revolved around Barbera and of course Sam. I never knew Sherwin to say a bad word about anyone. He was a good role model to me and everyone else in the neighborhood. Lila and I will miss him greatly. All of our love to Barbera.

I feel sad but very lucky to have known Sherwin for 15 years. He was one of the most intelligent individuals I called a friend. I will never forget his advice, kindness, generosity and yes--humor. Think of all the lives he touched. My sympathy to his family.

Since graduating high school in 2008 I haven't forgotten Mr. Cole. From "gym time" to the Pepsi Cola song he always brought a smile to my face. My thoughts are with the family of this sweet man.

Mr.Cole was one of the best people to make me smile when I was having a bad day back when I was a student at Palatine High School. He really cared about all those who he came into contact with and would always be there if someone needed help. I am going to miss my visits there in the future, because I always made sure to say hello to an old friend.

My condolences to the friends and family, and may you Rest in Peace Mr.Cole.

Sherman was such a caring and insightful man. To think he got along with the toughest of the tough and the sweetest of the sweet - in their own way, they had respect for him as did the faculty & staff. He 'managed' us all and will be greatly missed. My sympathy to all of you - Heaven's gate will be better managed with Sherwin there, one less thing for God.

Mr. Cole was one of the sweetest and most dedicated people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Coming back from lunch, Mr. Cole always had a joke for us and they were the best. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time. Once a pirate, always a pirate.

His jokes were not that funny to me anyway. He was nice but he needed to work on his comedy. He had a great heart. I will always remember his kindness but his humor should be forgotten.
