Dr. Eugene Leman, 86. Gene was born and raised in Rock Island, Illinois. He attended the University of Illinois and received his MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He received his training as a radiologist at Cook County Hospital and worked in several facilities in the Chicago area including the Gary Clinic. He served in the US Army as a physician in Korea and retired as a Captain. Gene was deeply devoted to his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all. Beloved uncle of Gary (Marilyn Hirsch) Gordon, Gail Freedman, Carol (the late Harold) Kopitsky and Helene Keim. Loving great-uncle of Alan (Jane) Kopitsky, the late Scott (Molly) Kopitsky, David Gordon, Gabrielle Gordon, Joshua (Nikki) Freedman and the late Adam Freedman. Dear great-great uncle of Morgan Kopitsky, Max Kopitsky, Dylan Freedman and Taylor Freedman. Graveside service Thursday, 11:00 am at Hebrew Cemetery of Rock Island, 2715 30th Street, Rock Island.
