Fond memories of Dr. Cohen from my medical school days. A sincere, warm and caring physician and dedicated teacher. Loved to interact with his students and very entertaining to be around. Hats off to your esteemed career and long life!

Lou Cohen was a friend & colleague at the University of Chicago from med school days until very recently. He was a marvelous combination of brains, diligence, & charm. He did not fear ignorance; rather, he perpetually sought knowledge. He was a clinical scientist with a friendly, approachable demeanor. He saw humor in all the nooks & crannies of life. With his passing, I feel bereaved of his presence & of the perhaps last remaining faculty member I knew in my tenure at the University. My heart goes out to his family, which I know he loved & cherished dearly.

Rest In Peace Dr Cohen, our family will always remember you. My brother Scott Spore was a Duchenne Muscular Dystropy patient of his, back in 1970 I believe and then for some years after. I have a picture of him with my brother. He lived to be 35 years old . He died in 1995. I'm convinced Dr Cohen kept him alive much longer than we expected. What a brilliant man. He will be greatly missed I'm sure. My deepest sympathies to his family. Say hello to Scotty in Heaven for me.
